what to do what to do
06.26.04 (9:57 am) [edit]
Last week a fellow brother I work with came to me and was very concerned. He thinks I am not being a good witness to our unsaved co-workers. Why you may ask, well the reasons he gave were as follows:
I host a poker game every once in a while
I drink beer and occasionally spirits
I say such bad words like ass and pissed off.
I explained to the brother that he has no need to worry because I am having wonderful times sharing the gospel with our unsaved co-worker. He replied that I am not being as effective because of my "worldly" behavior.
I almost got upset, but rather I tried to explain that I am not a legalist, and I never plan on being one. I do not get drunk, when I play cards it is never for anything I can not afford to lose, and that he should get his ass out of the judment seat, or someone may get pissed off.
He did not find this amusing. I find it very funny that a lot of my brothers have this kind of mentality. Don't they know that the law kills, and grace is what we need.
The task master showed us we can not do it on our own, and we will never be good enough for God's love. Am I being to sensetive? I don't think so, I think that I am being real.

I have this thing about people. I really do not care what you think, or do, as long as it's legal. I really don't care if we ever are going to agree. I do care a great deal about being genuine.
In my opinion if you live a consistent life, and are searching to be better every day then I think you're probably pretty hip. I can not stand phoney. Real is so much better.
I would rather discuss my theopligical differences with an LDS missionary or an atheist for a couple of hours than spend five minutes with a phoney church goer who talks a good game, but has an incosistent life.
They same goes for all, not just belivers.

Thank God for A/C
06.16.04 (5:24 pm) [edit]
I work in the heating and air conditioning field. I also live in Texas. This makes me a very busy guy at times.
Life in this state without A/C would be unbearable. I have no idea how the old timers did it. They must have loved it here a lot because it would take much love to stay here with no A/C.
I'm gratful gor A/C it keeps me comfortable and pays the bills.

Sad day kinda
06.14.04 (8:31 pm) [edit]
After working all day outside in the extreme heat and humudity I drove 2 of my children the the airport. They are going to visit their grandparents for a couple of weeks in Cali.
It got me thinking on the way back home how much I love them, and how much I really am going to miss them. They are great kids and I hopw they have a wonderful time being spoiled.
They deserve it.

Woo Hoo

2 LDS missionaries came by the house tonight. I totally love when they come. Last time they came we had discussions for about 8-9 weeks. They give me their presentaion and I share the gospel with them.
I don't know why, but God has really put these LDS guys in my heart. Just to talk with them, not argue, but rather get to know them as people in need of a savior.
So, it's all set up. They start comng one or two times a week, and hopefully the seeds of grace will be planted.
